Brunch is the new dinner. For those who love food and enjoy eating with friends, brunch has become a strong alternative to the perhaps more demanding and formal dinner.
Maybe it is that we love clean colour palettes or maybe it is simply because these particular two cool colours work so well together that we have fallen in love with the look of Melbourne’s latest brunch hot spot, Middletown.
The café’s beautiful, minimalist blue-and-white colour scheme gives a striking background for the terrazzo tiles and hints of marble and elegant details.
Extra luckily, Middletown is also located in Prahran, a less-than-10-minute walk from The Cool Hunter Store.
Middletown is the latest creative endeavour of restaurateur partners Randy Dhamanhuri and Valerie Fong, known from another Melbourne brunch favourite, Operator 25.
To create Middletown, Dhamahuri and Fong collaborated with interior architecture practice, Studio Tate and branding agency, Pop & Pac.
For the styling, the owners were inspired by Kate Middleton, or as she is officially known, Catherine, The Duchess of Cambridge.
They say that she personifies the values that the two wanted to adhere to in their cafe. “Middletown is a beautiful space that welcomes everyone through its doors,” says Dhamahuri and adds that the Duchess’s “humble nature and unpretentious beauty embody the design and personality of the café.”
